Area care center presents evening with nationally recognized author

The Loomis News - 10/18/2017

A local care center is bringing a well known personality to the area to educate the public on Alzheimer's and dementia.

CountryHouse at Granite Bay is presenting a special evening with nationally recognized author, speaker and dementia care expert Jolene Brackey on Tuesday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Timber Creek Ballroom on 7050 Del Webb Blvd. in Roseville.

In her presentation, Brackey will share the vision from her book, Creating Moments of Joy, which looks beyond the challenges of Alzheimer's disease and focuses on making the most of each day through simple, everyday pleasures. Brackey writes, "We cannot create the perfectly wonderful day, but it is absolutely attainable to create a perfectly wonderful moment." Afterward, there will be time for the audience to ask questions. An array of desserts will be served throughout the evening.

According to CountryHouse Executive Director DeeAnne Helton, "We're so excited to sponsor this event because Jolene's philosophy of creating 'moments of joy' has been a big part of our approach to memory care since the first CountryHouse opened in 1997. Caregivers, professionals and family members will all benefit from Jolene's insight, humor and practical tips."

Located at 8485 Barton Road in Granite Bay, CountryHouse is a memory care residence for those living with Alzheimer's disease and memory loss. Locally owned and managed by the national senior living provider Agemark, CountryHouse at Granite Bay opened in November 2016 and is home to 45 residents. For more information visit www.CountryHouse.net.
