Administrative Service Organization (ASO) Transition

Optum Health New Mexico (“OHNM”) is currently contracted to act as the Administrative Service Organization (“ASO”) for the State of New Mexico’s non-Medicaid Behavioral Health Services for adults and children. OHNM’s contract to perform the ASO function was an agreement between OHNM and the New Mexico Interagency Behavioral Health Purchasing Collaborative (“Collaborative”). This contract will come to an end on June 30, 2017.

To ensure there are no disruptions to the adults and children who receive non-Medicaid Behavioral Health Services or delays in payments to providers who offer those services, the Collaborative is currently in the process of developing a contract statement of work with Falling Colors for ASO services. This contract will be effective July 1, 2017.

In the coming weeks, Falling Colors will be in contact with all current non-Medicaid Behavioral Health providers to begin the contracting process. Beginning July 1, 2017, a signed agreement with Falling Colors will be necessary for any provider who will deliver non-Medicaid Behavioral Services that will be reimbursed through Collaborative funding pools.

We ask that all providers work with Falling Colors to ensure contracts are signed and effective by the July 1, 2017 start date. Should you have any questions regarding this transition, please feel free to e-mail the New Mexico Behavioral Health Services Division staff at
