Pathfinder Village honors employees for 80 years of service

Observer-Dispatch - 6/29/2020

Pathfinder Village, a leading non-profit residential community and services provider based in Edmeston, recently recognized the service milestones of eight employees who have achieved 80 years' service to people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.

Honorees this year include Direct Support Professional Jeanette Nutt, who has completed 20 years at Pathfinder. She has served in the Village's residential and nursing departments, and presently works with individuals through the Adult Day Services program. Direct Support Professional Amanda Piech, has completed 15 years at the Village's Summit House, providing daily lessons and supports to individuals.

"Pathfinder's adherence to safety protocols prevents us from gathering to celebrate our employees' achievements at our traditional luncheon, but this year we have even more reasons to honor our staff's diligence and commitment to people with disabilities," said Paul C. Landers, the Village's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Through these past few months, our employees have not only kept the well-being of our residents and students as a priority, but they have done so by demonstrating ingenuity, flexibility and real teamwork. I couldn't be prouder of our staff."

Classroom Aide Erica Smith, and Maura Iorio, Pathfinder School's senior director of education and program coordinator for Otsego Academy, the village's post-secondary program, as well as Landers, have completed 10 years of service at Pathfinder.

Accounts payable assistant Lesley Woodward, and direct support professionals Nick Henderson and Alexis Brazee, are celebrating their five-year service anniversaries.

All the honorees have received service awards and gifts and will be recognized at the 2021 employee luncheon, which has been traditionally held at The Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown.

Pathfinder Village is an internationally respected open-access community and services provider in upstate New York and was founded in 1980 to provide people living with Down syndrome and other disabilities an independent and fulfilling lifestyle.
