City: Police chief resigns

Lakeway Police Chief Todd Radford submitted his resignation Friday afternoon, officials said. Radford has been with the department since February 2007, according to city spokesperson Jarrod Wise.

"The city of Lakeway will immediately begin a search to find a suitable replacement who will stay focused on the primary mission of our police department – to keep our community safe, and pursue the department’s vision to remain dedicated to unsurpassed safety and service," city officials said Friday evening in a statement.

Wise said the city is not able to offer any additional information at this time since it is a personnel matter.

The Lakeway City Council is expected to discuss the matter at Monday's meeting.

Radford became police chief following the resignation of Chief Gordon Bowers in 2009.
