Dominican Sisters offer CNA, LPN careers

Jacksonville Journal-Courier - 1/9/2022

Jan. 7—For those looking to enhance or change careers to working in health care, the Dominican Sisters of Springfield are looking for certified nursing assistants who already are certified or those who want to become a CNA to care for the elderly in their 36-bed facility at Sacred Heart Convent in Springfield.

With veteran nurses retiring, the sisters also are looking to hire licensed practical nurses for a second shift.

A tuition program is available for employees interested in health care as a career.

"We hire experienced resident assistants or home care workers," said Cora Hughes, the sister's human resources director. "Because we are a private residential facility, CNA credentials are not required. Sacred Heart Convent is a fantastic entry-level employer for people with limited experience because we offer tuition assistance to our employees. We want our coworkers to always have the option to learn and grow, as lifelong learning is one of the sisters' core values."

For more information, call Hughes at 217-787-0481.
