Kohl’s launches adaptive clothing collection for adults with disabilities

Patriot-News - 9/12/2022

Kohl’s has launched a collection of clothing designed for adults with disabilities.

The clothing includes wider necklines, “functional leg openings and built-in waistline adjust-ability for seated comfort” along with pull-up loops, higher back waistlines and abdominal access.

The inside of the pieces, Kohl’s said, are soft and smooth for comfort.

The retailer said the collection was designed in partnership with GAMUT Management, a consulting and talent management company for people with disabilities.

Women’s pieces are available in Kohl’s private-label brands, Sonoma Goods for Life, Tek Gear and SO. Men’s are available in Sonoma Goods for Life, Tek Gear and Tommy Hilfiger.

Kohl’s already has adaptive clothing for kids and partnerships with BILLY Footwear and Stride Rite for shoes. It also has adaptive toys.

The adult collection include jeans, leggings, T-shirts and sweatshirts, flannel shirts, shorts and jackets.

Our adult adaptive collection is about creating apparel that is accessible to everyone, regardless of age or ability, and serving more of our customers with disabilities. We’re happy to offer adaptive designs that provide everybody the opportunity to express themselves, without sacrificing comfort and ease.”
