New Mexico Prescription Drug Assistance Program

Information provided by: the New Mexico Aging & Long-Term Services Department

The New Mexico Prescription Drug Assistance Program (PDA) can assist people of any age who live in New Mexico and do not have prescription drug coverage, or have used their benefits. Each drug company has it's own guidelines for eligibility, but usually patients must be low to middle income, need medications to treat long-term conditions, have no insurance to pay for the drugs, and be ineligible for, and not enrolled in, other types of assistance programs. Medicine obtained through PDA is either free or, occasionally, has a small co-payment, depending on the drug company. Only brand name prescriptions medications are available through drug companies' patient assistance programs, and not all brand name medications are available. However, the prescription drug program might be able to help you find other, often less expensive resources to help with the cost of your medications.
